Computech uses a methodological approach to solutions development and IT service management
Computech uses Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) for application development and IT infrastructure deployment. MSF is a series of principles, models, and best practices from Microsoft that help project teams directly address the most common causes of project failure. MSF does not prescribe a rigid uniform project methodology, but rather allows each project team to evolve what it considers to be sound practices for its work, learning from teams around it, and leveraging the experience of others in the industry. Because the teams constantly evolve their practices, the materials gathered into MSF are continually changing and expanding. MSF does provides specific “how to” guidance for successful application development and infrastructure deployment projects that emphasizes the people and process elements of the project in addition to the technology elements.

MSF is built on eight (8) foundational principles: Foster open communication, work towards a shared vision, empower team members, establish clear accountability and shared responsibility, focus on delivering business value, stay agile/expect change, invest in quality, learn from all experiences.

ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) is the most widely accepted approach to IT service management in the world. ITIL provides a cohesive set of best practices, drawn from the public and private sectors internationally. It is supported by a comprehensive qualifications scheme, accredited training organizations, and implementation and assessment tools. The best practice processes promoted in ITIL support and are supported by, the British Standards Institution's standard for IT service Management (BS15000).


ITIL provides a documented, process-based approach that will help organizations to deliver well managed IT services in the face of such difficulties as skills shortages, more exacting and unpredictable business requirements and user demands, and the growing complexity of IT systems. Such a systematic approach to IT service management also reduces the learning curve for staff and contractors since all parties share a common vocabulary.
